Hi,
My name is Carl Jewett and I’m
the Veteran Liaison for the Mesothelioma Center (Asbestos.com); I’m also the Executive Director of the Veterans Assistance
Network, and a retired Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy. While I was browsing through a number of Veterans sites I came
across your website and was very impressed by the information you have listed.
Countless veterans are currently suffering
from life-threatening illnesses that are a result of exposure to asbestos, a material that was commonly used in hundreds of
military applications, products, and ships primarily because of its resistance to fire.
The Mesothelioma Center
provides a complete list of occupations, ships, and shipyards that could have put our Veterans at risk for developing asbestos-related
diseases. In addition, they have thousands of articles regarding asbestos and mesothelioma and they’ve even created
a veterans-specific section on their website in order to help inform them about the dangers of asbestos exposure.
Because
so many veterans visit your site, I thought that you may be interested in helping to educate veterans about the dangers of
asbestos exposure by linking to our website, or possibly post some information on mesothelioma and veterans from your
page amvets61.com/. Please let me know. I'm available by e-mail at carl.jewett “@” asbestos.com. With your
help, we can save some lives. Thanks again.

Dear Mr. Martinez-Oliveras,
The Home Depot Customer Care is in receipt of your email.
In
reference to your e-mail, effective March 1st, 2010 we will offer, when asked, a 10 percent discount, up to a $500
maximum, to all active, reserve, retired or disabled veterans and their family members with a valid military
ID. All other military veterans will qualify for a 10 percent discount during normal holiday events (e.g., Memorial Day, Veterans Day and Independence
Day). This philosophy is consistent with our long standing price match guarantee.
Please note that
The Home Depot will offer a 10% Military discount up to $500.00 maximum. The Military discount cannot be combined with
any other promotions and are NOT offered online through homedepot.com. During normal holiday events, it's Store Manager's discretion to offer the discount without a Military
ID.
A retired veteran must have qualified and gone through retirement with the Military. Disabled Veterans
should have a Veteran's Identification Card (VIC) that is given to them from the Department of Veteran's Affairs.
The VIC and their DL should be sufficient ID to get the everyday Military Discount.
The Home Depot is dedicated
to supporting and honoring our men and women in uniform through our business practices, recruitment efforts and corporate
contributions. We offer this discount to thank them for their outstanding service to this nation and to help make
their homes more comfortable and safe.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
Sincerely,
Novel Customer
